Its only appropriate

to remember all the victims, living and dead of the Chernobyl Tragedy. It happened on this day, Apr. 26, 1986, 18 years ago. What a sad sad thing.

Read more about the nuclear explosion here- its effects are still evident even today. Here is a site of a woman who rode her motorcycle through the deserted town, taking pictures and telling the story from a real person's point of view, not from the stories given to the media from the government. The pictures she took truly tell the story.

Ash! I read that e-mail on the tragedy. Very powerful, very moving, very real, and sad. I can not believe I had not heard about this incident before. You are right, it is an important day to remember these brave and couragous firemen, "liquidators", locals, soldiers, pilots, workers, etc. They are all true heroes. I would love to visit that place one day.
