Wendy's Kept Callin My Name

and I answered with "I'll take one chicken nuggets and a Fry" and now I am mad at myself. I really do want to eat healthy and I wish the unhealthy did not taste so good. Disappointment.

Look Out Martha....

Thanks to my dear friend Shawn, I have found a perfect solution to all our burning problems- well he found them and showed me! Check this out-- isn't it the coolest? . And I thought the Lean Mean Grillin Machine was high tech standing alone, but now it is turned into a computerized phenomenon.
On other news, school is going pretty good. I am happy because I made a 95 on my oral presentation last night. I was really nervous. I think the next one I give will be easier. I am NOT happy because I made a 90 on one of the papers I turned in the first day of class. That is one point from a B and if I make a B in a class called "Learning Strategies" I feel I may be doomed. I actually should be studying about note taking and good listening skills as we speak!
On other news, last night was a perfect night. My air conditioner suddenly broke in my car the other day and I have not had the time to get it fixed so I have been perfecting my wind blown look everywhere I have gone in the past few days. Anyway, last night I was driving back from Jackson and it was so so so wonderful. I had my windows down and it felt like fall outside. I was listening to a really cool station that plays some good stuff after 10 everynight. And to top it off, my car is getting on up there in age, so every mph you go, it seems as if you are going ten mph over that so I felt like I was flying into the dark leaving only the stars and wind behind me. And I was only going 70, so I was only FEELING reckless and free. I love to drive when everything is going for me.

Flags

I heard on my morning radio show this morning about the "scandel" of President Bush signing autographs on the American Flag. Now I know that this is "taboo" and would think he would too, but I wasn't sure what all the other rules were for the flag...some of them would suprise you, or rather make you realize some of the stuff we see everyday is actually against code. Anniversary

I have been busy. Eric's surgery went well. He is at home, watching soaps and eating icecream right now. Actually, he is still feeling pretty sick so he is probably sleeping....either way, sounds pretty nice huh!! It was not a really major surgery, but they did put him under, and it was kinda scary seeing him after the surgery. He was in pain and I do not think I have ever seen him like that. I can not imagine being able to handle anything worse than sinus surgery. Our one year anniversery was yesterday! HURRAHH! I can not believe a year has passed. We celebrated when he was in his"feeling better" moments (they only last a few minutes at a time, so it was a quick little party!) We had year old cake and drank white grape juice out of our toasting glasses! It was actually the best wedding anniversary I have ever had! It was a quiet day, so it gave us time to talk to each other about all the things we have learned over the past year and all of our hopes for the next one. It was just how I would have wanted it. AND I think he believed me when I told him I was going to keep freezing the cake so we could eat a slice each year until it is gone! Must be those pain killers he is taking!

Little Birdie

I realize I should link to something neat. Due time. Ever wonder where the phrase "A Little Bird Told Me..." came from? Weeeelllll, I guess I will give you a hint- this witty little saying came from Ecclesiastes in the bible. Learn the origin of many more of those phrases you catch yourself saying daily right here.

Fear or Faith

My Mom said something really cool today. She said we have two choices, fear or faith. I think I will choose faith. Here are two verses I will find comfort in each day. Philippians 4:6-7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." John 14:7, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." My Mom is so great!

College

Well, it is official, I am a college girl again! I will be going to Belhaven starting this Tuesday. Eric will be starting a few weeks behind that! I am pretty excited about it. I had my orientation today and got my books and my first class assignment! So I guess I will be spending the weekend doing homework. That's right. I am vowing right here and now to be a diligent student for the next two years.

Old Days

I am in Hattiesburg today helping my dear friend Amanda move--she is hitting the road headed towards Florida tomorrow. It is really sad but at the same time really exciting. She will be working for a marketing company that has clients such as UPS and BellSouth. Bonus---Eric and I will have a place to stay when we go visit Mickey one day. So anyway, we are here, packing up reminiscing of the old days and dreaming about the new ones. It is funny how life can bring different people together for quick moments and then take them in opposite directions only moments later. It is unpredictable. I guess that is God's way of allowing you to learn outside your own world. Well back to packing....

Misinterpretations

it is really time for me to go to sleep. If I can jump in bed and be asleep in 13 minutes, I will get my 8 hours. This blog is going to mess me up...I am usually in bed by nine. Maybe I will grow young again. Anyway, have you ever heard a song a million times and belted out the words along with the artist and never quite known what they are saying? I really love doing that because it can end up being absurdly funny. So I hope this next link does not ruin all of our fun....but here it is. Check out the common misinterpretations of our favorite and not so favorite songs here and what the actual words of the song are. The one that always gets me is Karma Police by Radiohead so that is the page i have linked you to! Hope it is informative but not a creative buster!

Bloggy

A BLOGGY GOOD POST I must say, "blog" is the best word possible for what all bloggers are doing here. Derived from the word "weblog" (you guys did not know this was a little english lesson for you), the slang term "blog" can be used as a synonym for two thirds of any type of language out there. Doesn't that just blog you mind? As I have started this weblog, I have been thinking on my off times of all these ideas to make my blog better. So blogging has been on my mind. And as a direct result, the actual word blog has been on the mind too. I find myself thinking, "I haven't the bloggiest idea" or "I have no bloggin clothes to wear today" It is so bloggin universal that I have adapted it into my everyday language. Is that a bad thing? I have not slipped up and said it out loud to anyone yet.....I wonder what kind of bloggy reaction I would get if I just adopted it as the new cool word. Do you think it would catch? Well, I am blogged out for now. Ashley PS---# of times form of blog used in this post- 16

Kneeboarding

Back to the grind today. I hope that all of my two readers out there had a fabulous weekend. We sure did. Fun in the sun at the lake on Saturday. I am mastering kneeboarding and my dear husband is totally awesome on the wakeboard. He was riding those waves like a true Californian. We both busted it several times though so as I type today, my fingers are just aching. I got to keep my sweet neice Friday. Check this little cutiepatoodie out. We went to the movies and saw Finding Nemo--what a cute movie. It was precious, although some of it seemed kind of scary for little Wrenn, but she must of not caught it. Other than that, we had a quiet weekend. Taco night went over great!
