Now that's Ragin!
I have to tell this story even though it may make me look somewhat trashy. (hopefully not) So I just left a while ago to go get a new car tag. I was driving along, minding my own business in the downtown area. I accidentally, let me stress accidentally, ran a stop sign. I really think it was obstructed. Anyway, so I had to slam on my breaks because another car was coming. It was a mild slamming of the breaks, nothing detrimental. So I turn around in my car and do the car motion for “I am so sorry.” The car follows me. I keep waiting at each stop sign for her to turn, still doing the “I’m sorry” motion. She follows me still. I turn into the court house. She turns into the court house. I park my car and get out. She is in front of me in her vehicle. Amidst her highly profane screams, I again apologize, saying I am in the wrong, I am sorry, blah blah blah. She continues cursing. THEN she says, “I ought to get out the car and kick your !@&*#. I get mad at this point and say “Well then get out of your car.” As I was saying this, I was thinking, “what am I saying…… Let me describe her to you. VERY large, black woman with a very large attitude. You know the kind. She then says, “you lucky$*, if we were not at the court house (which is across the street from the police station) I would. She continues to curse me, my mother and my whole family until she finally drives off. I was shaking like a leaf. Am I naïve or is this the correct way to handle a running of a stop sign? I do know that I should not have told her to get out the car, but it just came out. I am very lucky she did not because I would have surely gotten the ever living stew beat out of me. I am SO not an aggressive or angry person. I just have never had any one come at me like that. And I was mad. She had no right. Granted, I could have hit her car. And for that, I am very sorry. But she, for one, should not have followed me all the way to the court house and two should have accepted my genuine apology. Sheesh. Now I know what road rage is.

YOU COMPLETE ME.
Okay, here is a game. I start the sentence and you guys finish it. Shannon, remember playing that on youth trips. Nick was the best at this. Seems like the sentences always started with “The pink flamingo….”
Okay here we go.
HE WAS THE KIND OF MAN WHO……

EXCUSE ME!!
So my school was supposed to mail me my textbook because they were out of stock last week. So I waited and waited and waited for the book. Keep in mind I have many chapters to read before class tomorrow. So when it did not come today, I called and told them the situation. And the bookstore guy told me this, “Well, probably if we told you we would send it out, then we did not and you will need to come up here and get it or we can mail it to you.” And that was it. That was his excuse. I am not one for excuses believe me. Or I though I was not. But an excuse here would have been well received. Tell me something about how there has been a change of staff, or with the school year starting, things have been crazy. Or something. Not, “well if we told you we were going to send it to you, then chances are we did not.” That does not even really make sense. Anyway, guess I will not be reading about the themes of the Old Testament tonight.
Sorry for the rant.
By the way, I am going to ask again since no one answered me last time. Does anyone know how to get rid of the turtle?

I am in pursuit of
I am in pursuit of the perfect sentence. Any help is appreciated.
I love words. They are pieces of a puzzle. And yet they can be placed in any space and still fit, usually. I love how the same word can be used a billion different ways. I will tell you that I love flowery sentences. Only in small doses, say two sentences at a time, but I do love them. They make me feel nostalgic for places I have never been, people I have never known.... That is a nice feeling. I wish I possessed the gift of writing. I would write such wonderful things if only I could. I would write of mango farms and apple orchards. I would write of cotton candy fields and kindred spirits floating about. I would write of people I once knew and people I wish I knew. My words would be fragrant and syrupy. I can see that already. Maybe that is why I don't. What a tragedy to have too many delightful words in one paragraph. Do you know what I like to do though? Take words from letters and emails and mix them up to be this whole other thing. I would definently not call it a poem, just big word casserole. Is that cheating?
I think I am going to do some surfing around, but I may be back. I want to break my record of the most posts for one night. Hey, why not..it's Friday!

FRIDAY!!
I did not just realize for the first time today. I have known it was Friday all day, but I think, just before I got on my site, as I was sitting here looking at my blank computer (although it was not blank, I think there was some type of work on there, but my eyes are just glazed over....) I really really realized it. I love Fridays, almost as much as I love Thursdays. Thursdays are so great because of the anticipation of the whole weekend ahead. On Thursdays, you have the whole weekend- still untainted and un-used. Fridays are good, but by 5 PM, you are into the weekend, meaning there is not as much of it left as on Thursday. But still a good day. I wish that I did not look forward to the weekend so much. It takes away from the week. I feel like I spend all week wishing it was the weekend. And then all weekend wishing it was Thursday again. I need to work on enjoying each day more.
I am blogging about nothing it seems. I feel this desire to really journal in my blog and I don't know why I can not seem to do it. I want to write meaningful things. And very clever things. I have this friend who does not blog and I do not think he ever will blog, but he sure would be a great blogger. I can only imagine the wonderful things he would write.
Speaking of, I heard a song today on the radio and I am not sure the name, but the lyrics" I can only imagine" were said often, so I am thinking that may be the title. Anyway, I think that may be one of my favorite phrases for the week "I can only imagine" I love it for two reasons. One, it gives the opportunity to imagine and two, it gives hope that really great things might actually happen. And I love it when something that I can only imagine actually does happen. It is usually not at all how I imagined it and most of the time much better. When whatever it is that I have imagined is happening, I try and think about how I thought it would be. It is a wierd feeling to think about.
Here are some of the things that I can only imagine:
~What my cousin Laura's cute house looks like and what her life in CO is really like
~what the air in Switzerland feels like at night
~what it feels like to have my very own baby
~what it will be like when I finally finish school
THere are many more....but....that is enough for now

UNFAITHFUL
I am realizing that I have not written in my sweet little blog in days and days. I have been pretty busy lately. But guess what else I have been? Organized. Yes that is right. There has been a major development in the life of Ashley. Something clicked and I turned into this fine tuned organizing maching. Seriously. Even my car is clean. For those of you who know me, this is a major feat. I hope it sticks!
Other news- I passed my first class with an A!! Yeah! Now I am on to Old Testiment. I am actually pretty excited about this one. I hope I have the heads up on it because I am familiar with it already. We will see. It should be interesting I think. Hopefully it will be like going to Bible Study each week.
More news- My great friends Tonya and Nathan just had their second little boy on Aug. 10. His name is Aiden Alexander and I am sure he will be as much of a joy as his brother, Austin is to us all. They are the cutest little family.

I could not think of a title. This is a horrible horrible thing for someone to do. Click here to read about it. When I heard about this, I was utterly disgusted. Poor little girl.

have a deeper aspect when looking at things.
Most of the time, thier outcasts of the social

Blundering Blogs
Rarely do I vent and certainly do not want to be a blog basher, but I really do have to say something. I have been searching for some cool blogs to get myself involved in and put on my "places to visit" section. So I have been going to directories and randomly choosing blogs. I have noticed a trend in many blogs. There are a lot of bloggers out there who hate blogging, hate everything blogging stands for and live only to make fun of them. Yet they have their own blogs and most of them are quite consistant in their posting. I really wish that I could link you to a couple of these, but I really do not want to get caught up in bad linking- I think that is not very nice. Just does not make sense. And for some reason, I take it personally. Is it cool to show no interest in what you are involved in? What I think is:
The "bored" persona is so over bloggers.

Country Charisma
Got this from Shannon....what country are you?
I'M FIGI!! That's the ticket...

You're Fiji!
As calm, relaxed, and removed from life as they come, you're just so
chilled out, it hurts people to see you. Everyone aspires to be where you are, but
most of them just can't put their stress away. Little do they know that even you
sometimes have inner turmoil and struggles! For the most part, though, it's sun and
fun for you, and that's the way you like it. It's just sort of hard to get things
done with all that partying.
