happy birthday to me
My mother has just informed me that I am officially a quarter of a century old.
On other news, the word for the day is malapropism, which is the usually unintentionally humorous misuse of a word, especially by confusion with one of similar sound; also, an example of such misuse.
Use it today!!
On other news, I realized yesterday I have a photogenic memory when I recalled every single name and face of my 12th grade English class to a coworker. Cool huh?

A year older

Random Notes
It has been a while since I have been able to write. Things have been so busy around here lately. We are getting all packed up and ready to move into our new house. We will close on Thursday. I am so proud of myself because I have not procrastinated with my packing. I usually end up throwing things in garbage bags and laundry baskets the night before because I never got around to gathering boxes. BUT this time, I started packing weeks before the move so I can get a good night’s rest before we actually move!!
My great grandmother passed away last Sunday. My sister wrote about her beautifully in her blog. She put it perfectly when she said that my grandmother has been an invisible presence in all of our lives. I will always hold her dear to my heart. The funeral was sad, but it was joyous and full of memories as well.
Another Valentine’s Day has come and gone. I missed writing about it, but a Happy Valentine’s Day to you all! I have never really done much on this day, but I did manage to eat three boxes of candy.
My sweet little nephew is one today. I can’t believe a whole year has passed since he was born. I can’t wait to see him tomorrow. He is precious. A roly poly bundle of boy.
Do you know what I am most excited about moving into the new house? Getting to take a picture by the SOLD sign. I don’t know why, but I have always wanted to do that.
I was reading someone’s blog recently and they were talking about the most overused word or phrase. There is one that really gets to me. I don’t use it and I don’t here many people use it on a day to day basis. BUT, if I am watching a celebrity interview or reality show or whatever on tv, I hear “But, at the end of the day…..” and I don’t know why, but it really gets on my nerves.
By the way, It is SOOOO beautiful outside. I can't wait for spring.

mmm good
Reading a fabulous book right now- I am half way through and can't wait to get home and relish in this rainy weather and finish it. Memoirs of a Geisha (thanks Laura!!) If you haven't read it, you should. Well, I will retract that and let you know when I am done if you should. But I have this sneaking suspicion you should.
