Anne with an "e", if you will..
I am so stoked! (which, by the way, is still a cool word to use) My mom brought over some boxes of knick-knacks and odd ends from my childhood and GUESS WHAT WAS IN ONE OF THE BOXES…!!…!!…
The whole Anne of Green Gables book series; there are like 12 of them! I have been wanting to reread that whole series from start to finish for years now. They were my favorite books as a child.
Just thought I would share.

The 90's ROCKED!
I don’t know why I feel so unproductive today. Maybe because it is so pretty outside and I am stuck in a windowless box? Maybe because I was SO productive this morning that I have used all my productivity up for the day? Maybe because I am feeling lazy? I will go with the second one!! I watched a show on tv the other day called, “Why the 90’s Rocked” on E. I can’t believe it- It is finally here. Shows on the 90’s. I have been waiting for this day for a long time. I could always relate to the 80’s recaps only vaguely. For some reason the 80’s are sort of a blur to me. I was born in 1979, so I only lived the first 11 years of my life in the 80’s (oh, wait, guess that would be 10….you know what I mean) I remember things like the Smurfs and Carebears and Rainbow Bright, even the Shirttails and the Snuffles. GloWorms and Popples, oh yeah, I had them. I remember scrunch socks, big bangs, Punki Brewster…oh, and Tiffany.
But I don’t feel like I really lived IN the 80’s. I was not a part of its’ culture, its’ true essence if you will. I only knew the pop culture in bits and pieces through my big sister’s eyes, who only lived it a bit more than I did. I always feel like a “fake” when I get those emails about being a child of the 80’s and you know what, I took the internet test “What kind of 80’s child are you” or something to that nature, and I bombed it. And I was embarrassed to tell anyone. But now, I will be proud to say, I have realized that really, I am a child of the 90’s. Well, I would prefer to be a child of the first 7 years of the 90's. The newer generation can have late 90's if they want. Yes, I can recall song lyrics, social and political issues, trends, scandals and popular products of the 90’s. (nevermind that was not too too long ago) I own the 90’s. And you know, it is going to make me mad when I see kids half my age saying they were part of the 90’s culture the same as I was. I will want to tell them, “You know as much about the 90’s as I do the 80’s.” That will shut them up. They have to wait their turn as I did mine. And we have another 6 years for that.

I am a new member of the DREAM TEAM!!
Well I had an eventful weekend. I mostly cleaned cleaned cleaned. It is starting to feel more and more like home though. Last week I hear the doorbell ring one evening. I was home by myself unpacking, Eric at work. So I go to the door and it is my two little neighbor boys wanting me to play basketball with them! So big tall me with another little girl against the two boys- they really killed us! But it was fun. Then the parents came out and we all sat on the front porch chatting away for an hour or so. I am sure they thought I was a bit strange playing basketball in their driveway, but I needed a break from the unpacking. The lady gave me a plate from one of her collections. They seem very nice. The little boy that lives there has since rang my doorbell like six times, three being early Saturday morning, all to play basketball. I believe I have started something!

Home
I spent the better part of last night unpacking boxes that contained kitchen supplies (dishes, appliances, dishes, dishes…) and organizing them in my fabulously utilitarian kitchen. The storage space in it is amazing! So I got to take all my wedding presents out of their boxes and display them in my cabinets ( I did not even have to stack- I was able to actually decorate the inside of the storage cabinets they are so big!) I love kitchens. They are my favorite room to decorate. I love dishes, bowls, porcelain roosters, glass fruit, and pretty appliances. I must confess that I am not very useful at fulfilling their purposes, except for maybe the fruit and the rooster, but I am working on that. But everytime I move, I take the same things that I have in the previous kitchen and shuffle them around and it makes the room feel completely different. I love that. It makes my stuff feel brand new.
We got a refrigerator Sunday. It is one of those side by sides. My mom says I will live to regret getting a side by side, but that it was something I would have to discover on my own. (a little dramatic Mom!!) But I like it now; I feel so modern. I am discovering that I am married to a little do it yourself Handi-Man. He did not want to get it delivered and set up by the store, so we did it. We first took the front door off the hinges. Then we discovered we could not get it through the interior doors, so we took the doors off the fridge. Then we discovered that the people who lived there before us cut the water line instead unscrewing it. So two trips to Wal-Mart later, we get the water lines connected. Then we go to plug it in, there is a short in the outlet. AGH! It works, but I think it is a safety hazard the way it is plugged in. So the electrician will be out today to check it out. Thank goodness for house warranties!! Being an older home, we will have kinks to work out, but I do love our new house! It already feels like home, cozy.

yarn't ya curious?
Compliments of Christen's blog.
So I am MoHair. That's Mo-licious!!

You are Mohair.
You are a warm and fuzzy type who works well with
others, doing your share without being too
weighty. You can be stubborn and absolutely
refuse to change your position once it is set,
but that's okay since you are good at covering
up your mistakes.
What kind of yarn are you?

So did no one notice my malapropism in my last entry or what?? Sheesh, you make special effort to make use of new knowledge, taking for granite that everyone else will notice too.
